SSG Alexus Monroe joined the United States Army Field Band in 2023. A singer from a young age, she attended both the LaVilla School of the Arts and the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL. Previously to her appointment at the Field Band, she joined the Army out of high school in 2017 and served at USAG Humphreys in South Korea, the 1-34 Battalion at Fort Jackson, SC, and at Fort Drum, NY as a Human Resources Specialist. During this time, she did on the job training with the 8th Army Band, 282d Army Band, and 10th Mountain Division Band as a featured vocalist. In March of 2022 she attended the United States Army School of Music, graduated, and returned to Fort Jackson as the only 282d Army Band vocalist for that year. In her free time, SSG Monroe enjoys being a make-up artist and watching TV with her husband and daughter.
